Let me walk you through a newborn photo session with me
What happens when you book in?
So, what happens when you decide to book with me and how do we set a date? As we are not sure when baby will arrive, we use your due date as a guide. We then only set a studio date once little one arrives so we can get you in accordingly with in the first 3 weeks. We will then also plan any colours and special requests you might have for your images.
The photoshoot
A newborn photoshoot ideally takes place with in the first 21 days. This is because in those first few day's babies are still very sleepy and still love to be all curled up. After those first few weeks you’ll find that your new addition will slowly start to become more awake and alert and love stretching out. Once this happens some poses won’t be possible to achieve, but that being said we can always get gorgeous photo at any age. I know it can be quite daunting thinking of leaving the house those early days. I mean who knows what a routine is in that phase of your life right? Thats why the studio is specially designed for newborns. It is lovely and warn with a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for soothing your newborn baby into those lovely curled up poses. This is your chance to sit back and relax while I take over doing all the settling and soothing, even feeding if you wish.
When you look through my social medias or website you will get an insight as to what image you can expect from your session
Once little one has been fed, we will strip them down and I will begin to soothe and pose when they are ready. I usually start with the table poses you see with the blankets capturing all little one's little roles and details. We will then get some lovely image of baby swaddled and using props. I will also make sure that there is a lovely flow throughout your images working around your colour scheme. Each pose will go at babies own pace with safety and babies needs in minds. We have plenty time if baby is unsure or needs some extra time for feeding or settling so you will never feel rushed.
What about parent and sibling photos?
Every session and every package can include family pictures if you desire them. As well as sibling I also love to include the fury type, after all being a dog mum myself there’s nothing, I love more than a session that includes baby cuddles and their dogs.
After just giving birth, I can understand that getting on pictures can be quite daunting and that's completely natural. It's my job to ease you in and I will talk you through posing to make sure you have the most relaxed and enjoyable experience. These pictures are there to capture the emotion and connection you have as a family. My aim is to capture something you can treasure and look back on it for years to come.
Also, if you're unsure on getting on pictures we can always show the connection your new family has by just including your hands as seen below. Its lovely to look back on and see just how small they really are
Choosing your images
After your session you will receive an online gallery to select your favorite images. You will be able to take your time in the comfort of your own home and pick your package of 5, 10 or all images.
